Roberta Wesley’s paintings are offered as fine quality art prints in three different types:
Lithographs (printed on paper), Canvas Tranfers (from the lighographs) and true Canvas Giclées.

Fine Art Lithographs:

Roberta Wesley fine art lithographs are a far cry from the mass produced posters you will find at most retail outlets.  Printed with the finest quality permanent pigment inks on 100 lb archival cover paper, these quality prints will stand the test of time. Lithographs are traditionally matted and framed under glass for display.

Canvas Transfers:

Canvas Transfers are designed for those who prefer the look of an oil painting on canvas. Made by permanently adhering the image from a fine art lithogragh to genuine artist's canvas, our Canvas Transfers retain all the beauty of the original print while adding the depth and texture of canvas. Canvas transfers art offer an elegant way to preserve and display your artwork.

Producing a canvas transfer is an intensely detailed process, which begins with a lithograph (ink on paper). Special chemicals are applied which, when dried, form a film that is meticulously separated from the paper and permanently embedded onto a high quality artist canvas. The canvas is then carefully stretched and wrapped around a sturdy, custom-cut inner support frame, called a "stretcher bar".  The result looks like an oil painting on canvas.

The finished size of a canvas transfer is always the same as the image size of the lithograph.  There will be no border on the canvas transfer as there is on the lithograph.  Canvas transfers are usually displayed framed without matting or glass.

Canvas Giclées

The ultimate expression of Roberta Wesley’s art is captured in her authentic Canvas Giclées. Giclée (pronounced “gee-clay”) is a French word meaning spray of ink. It is the most advanced fine art printing technique currently available. The ink is sprayed (via a specialty printer) directly onto the canvas, which is then stretched and finished by hand.  Produced one at a time on specialty canvas, giclée prints retain the deep saturated colors, minute detail, and subtle tints and blends characteristic of the original work. The resulting images are so true to the original artwork that Giclées are frequently mistaken for original oil paintings.

Because these premium giclées are created individually from a digital file, we are able to offer different sizes of the same print.  All Roberta Wesley giclées are produced at the Wesley Gallery in Dripping Springs, TX under her personal supervision. Each comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
