Dianne Sonnenberg lives and works in Austin, Texas. Although the quality and quantity of the work she has created would indicate otherwise, she has only been creating mosaic art since the summer of 2003.
A decade earlier, she had left a promising career in the computer industry to focus her attention on raising two wonderful children. When it was time to think about working again, her long-held interest in creating beautiful art led her to a new vocation as a mosaic artist.
Dianne works primarily in glass, but also uses a variety of other materials. She hand-cuts and shapes her tiles to fit the needs of each piece, valuing precision. In creating a mosaic, she plays with the colors, materials, shapes. light and design, until the combination is just right and the piece evolves into a finished work of art.
Dianne was born in Canada, raised in Michigan, and has also lived in Chicago and North Carolina. Dianne is a member of the Society of American Mosaic Artists, the Creative Arts Society of Austin, and MosaicArtists.org.
